Abstract

On 27 April, 1982, Southeastern Wildlife Services, Inc. contracted with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, to conduct a Known Cultural Resources Site Inventory (KCRSI) for the Fort Benning Military Reservation. Purchase Order DACA21-82-M-0091 stated that the purpose of the KCRSI was to compile existing information on the prehistoric and historic resources within Fort Benning currently in documents, records, publications and known by individuals. This document is the final report describing the methods, format and contents of the inventory. The inventory itself consists of four separately bound volumes and two sets of master inventory maps, showing the location of all resources inventoried. The inventory and maps are on file at the Environmental Management Office, Fort Benning, Georgia.
