The 15 miles of trails proposed for constructed is Section II of an on-going effort to establish uninterrupted recreation trails from Cloudland Canyon State Park to the Lula Lake Land Trust property in Dade and Walker Counties, GA. This portion of the proposed project will involve construction of approximately 15 miles of Road-to-Trail conversion and single-track trails. These trails will be used for equestrian, hiking and biking activities. The purpose of this survey is to insure that any development will not harm significant archaeological resources. This survey is intended to identify any cultural resources in the area prior to development. Any resources that are identified will be assessed for significance and eligibility for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Two resources were located during the survey. Site 1, 9WA331, is a prehistoric lithic scatter of undetermined age, and bite 2, 9WA330, is a historic domestic artifact scatter. Only 9WA331 was determined to be potentially eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. 9WA330 was determined to have eroded down slope to its current position and is therefore not eligible for the NRHP.
