Abstract

An intensive cultural resources survey was conducted of a road widening corridor within the Tallulah Ranger District of the Chattahoochee National Forest. The project corridor is approximately 640 meters (2,100 feet) long and located 7.0 kilometers (4.4 miles) northwest of Clayton, Georgia. One archeological site (9RA25 1) was recorded. The site, a lithic scatter, is recommended ineligible for the National Register of Historic Places. The project corridor is along a slope that has been severely disturbed by silviculture and erosion. Based on the survey findings, clearance is recommended for the road widening project.
