Abstract

The proposed project would construct an approximately 0.75 mile multi-use trail totally within the boundaries of the Boundary Waters Park in Douglas County, Georgia. The trail would be approximately 10 feet wide, and constructed of asphalt or concrete. The trail is the pilot segment of a larger, 90 mile trail envisioned to pass through Douglas, Coweta, Carroll, and Fulton, and the City of Chattahoochee Hill Country. The trail would be built upon the existing trail facilities within the park, providing a hard-surface trail for bikers, walkers, joggers, and in-line skaters. The trail would begin at the parking lot of the aquatics center and end at the athletic hub, a group of baseball/softball fields. The project would also include amenities such as signage and benches. Because the trail would be completely constructed within the boundaries of the park, there would be no acquisition of right-of-way or easement required for construction. The trail would be constructed in compliance with Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
