The Director of the Marine Science Institute, Dr. Ed Chin, contracted the Anthropology Department of the University of Georgia to conduct a Phase I survey of a one acre tract of land (Map 1). The area is located in Mistletoe State Park in Columbia County, and is the future site of a field building for use by the Institute. The approximately one acre land area is located southwest of the boat dock at the State Park, along the waterfront (Map 1). Topographic mapping of the proposed site has been done.
