A cultural resources survey of 174 acres of National Forest land was conducted by the author in May 1984 along the proposed 4.6 mile right-of-way for the Williamson Cove Road (FR792). Additional acreage was surveyed in Williamson Cove, Devil's Den Branch and Polecat Branch Areas. No significant cultural resources sites were found either on the steep slopes along the roadway or in the low land area surveyed on the west end of the road. No further cultural resources work is warranted in areas surveyed, therefore, clearance for the road construction in this area is recommended.
