Abstract

This is an addendum to A Traditional Cultural Property Evaluation for Taylors Creek, Pleasant Grove, and Strum Bay-Stewart Town Cemeteries, Fort Stewart, Georgia (Contract No. DACW21-99-D-0004), submitted to the Savannah District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers by New South Associates on November 26, 2002. The purpose of this document is to address the Determination of Eligibility Notification comments written by the Keeper of the National Register on January 23, 2003. The notification found the TCP documentation to be insufficient and in need of additional information to determine if the cemeteries are eligible for listing on the National Register. Requested material includes physical descriptions of the Taylors Creek and Pleasant Grove cemeteries, National Register criteria justification, additional information on cultural significance, results of archaeological studies in the area, and maps. Photographs of the two cemeteries are also attached to this addendum.
