Abstract

In November 1995, Garrow & Associates, Inc., under a contract with Eder Associates, completed a Phase I cultural resource survey of the Chase Family Land Tract. The project area encompassed approximately 24 acres located northwest of the intersection of Clark Howell Road and Sullivan Road, Clayton County, Georgia. The field survey consisted of shovel testing and visual inspection at 30 m intervals. Twelve transects were placed in the project area. One historic archaeological site was identified during the survey. Site 9CN87 is recommended for Phase II testing in order to assess its eligibility for listing on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Two isolated finds were also recovered; they are ineligible for the NRHP. No standing structures are present in the tract.
