During August of 1986, Robert S. Webb conducted a. cultural resource survey of Oglethorpe Power Corporation's proposed Mills Road substation site and transmission line loop corridor. The proposed project is in Burke County, Georgia, near Waynesboro. A review of the state site files and the National Register of Historic Places revealed that no previously recorded cultural resources are located within the proposed corridor or substation site. Surface survey and shovel testing yielded no cultural resources. Cultural clearance is therefore recommended for the project area.
