The research area for the above project is located on the Dahlonega Plateau of the upper Piedmont Province of Georgia (McCallie, et al.,1925). The. current political subdivision location and extent is as follows: Parcel #1, located in Land Lots 93, 94 and'99 of District 3rd, 1st Section of White (originally Habersham) County; Parcel #2, located in Land Lots 29 and 30 of District 12th, 1st Section, Habersham County. The size of the primary search area totals 987.82 acres; the secondary-effect search area, is roughly computed at one square mile for each parcel, and not delineated specifically on the project maps.
