Abstract

An archaeological reconnaissance survey was conducted on August 3, 1996, on approximately 1.69 ac of floodplain and upland for 'Natural Resource Services, Inc., on behalf of Five Ducks, Inc. The survey area consisted of three proposed borrow areas along the Ocmulgee River in Twiggs County, Georgia. One prehistoric site, 9TW107, was located during the survey. Site 9TW107 is recommended as potentially eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. However, this site lies outside of the area of potential environmental effect. If site 9TW107 is not impacted during borrow activities, then no further archaeological resource management consideration is recommended.
