Abstract

Brockington and Associates, Inc. conducted a cultural resources survey of seven tracts associated with the Eagle's Landing Development in Henry County, Georgia for Moore, Bass, and Bibler, Inc. These tracts are located east of 1-75, between Flippen and Stockbridge. Much of the general area has been or is currently being developed. This survey was comprised of archival research, archaeological and architectural field survey, and evaluation of cultural resources located within the survey tract. This cultural resources survey investigated nearly 470 acres in these seven tracts. Five archaeological sites and three isolated finds were identified. Four of the sites (9HY258, 9HY259, 9HY260, and 9HY262) and the three isolated finds are recommended ineligible for the NRHP. No additional cultural resources investigation is considered to be necessary at these resources. Site 9HY261 contains a historic cemetery and is recommended potentially eligible for the NRHP. It is recommended that this site be preserved in place. No architectural resources were identified during this investigation.
