Abstract

During the month of April, 2000 New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of 110-acres of the construction zone (cemetery area) and 1.6 miles (2.5 km) of road network within the proposed Georgia National Cemetery in Cherokee County, Georgia. A total of nine sites and six isolated finds were located within the proposed project area. This report details the background, methods, and results of this project. All of the sites and isolated finds discovered during the survey are recommended as not eligible for the NRHP.
