In January and February 2004, R.S. Webb & Associates (RSWA) conducted a Phase I archeological resources survey of the proposed Indian Creek Water Pollution Control Plant, proposed pump station, and Sewer Line Corridors in Henry County, Georgia. The survey was conducted to locate and identify archeological resources within the project area and to assess resource significance based on National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) criteria [36 CFR Part 60 .4( a-d)]. The project was performed in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 as amended. The archeological resources study involved a review of relevant literature, an intensive field survey, and a visual inspection of the area to identify any archeological sites located within the project area. State and county records, maps, and documents were examined to determine whether or not previously recorded archeological sites/historic structures are located within or around the project area within a 1.67 km (1 mile) radius. The field survey, which was accompanied by visual inspection of the project area, employed surface and subsurface techniques to identify and record potential archeological resources within the study area.
