In October, 2004, R.S. Webb & Associates conducted a Phase I cultural resources survey of the proposed 119 hectares (390 acre) R & J Landfill site in Murray County, Georgia. The tract is located adjacent to U.S. Highway 411, near the Town of Ramhurst, in Murray County, Georgia. The field survey found no archeological sites or historic resources within or adjacent to the project area. The literature review found that no previously recorded archeological sites, or NRHP listed/eligible properties, or State recognized historic resources are located within the project tract. No previously unrecorded buildings, structures, or objects over 50 years old were identified within the Area of Potential Effects of the proposed undertaking.
