Abstract

The proposed project will consist of the removal of the existing structure and replacement on the existing alignment. The proposed project length is .21 miles with the bridge being approximately 120 feet long. the road and bridge will continue to be a rural two lane, 55 mph corridor. The project is located in Barrow County approximately 6.8 miles east of Winder. The roadway will consist of two 12 foot lanes, 8 foot shoulders (2 foot paved} and 4 foot flat bottomed ditches. The bridge will consist of two 12 foot lanes with 8 foot shoulders. The project includes a proposed off site detour using SR 82 as the primary detour route. SR 82 is located south of and parallel to SR 211. The detour route would have one terminus at the intersection of SR 11 and SR 211 and the other at the intersection of SR 211 and SR 82. The alignment and geometry of SR 82 is in rolling/flat terrain similar to SR 211. The length of the detour is approximately 10.75 miles. The estimated additional travel time is between 7and 8 minutes. There are several other local streets connecting SR 211 with SR 82 that could also be used by local traffic.
