Abstract

The Track Rock site (9UN3) is located in Union County, Georgia and is one of the best known rock art sites in the state. This site is located on National Forest land on the Blue Ridge Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests. Protective grates were installed over some of the rocks in the 1960s and an interpretive sign has been installed. To enhance the visitor experience at this site, the Forest proposes to remove the grates and replace them with a low barrier. In addition, the Forest will add additional interpretation and a clear message about how to protect the site. It is the Forest's opinion that this proposed undertaking will have No Effect on the Track Rock site.
