Abstract

A series of cultural resources surveys were conducted on the Tallulah Ranger District Chattahoochee National Forest during the fiscal year 1986, preparatory to various Forest Service undertakings, such as proposed land exchanges, road constructions, timber sales, and wildlife openings. All but one took place within Rabun County; the exception was a small tract in Towns County. A total of 2688 acres were surveyed, and ten new sites were recorded. Of that number, four were found to need further testing to determine significance and were protected from disturbance by the proposed undertakings. With those adjustments to the projects cultural resources clearance could be given to each of the activities.
