Abstract

The selected alternative would widen Millers Chapel Road to two 15-foot travel lanes (one in each direction) with a 20-foot raised grassed median and a 16-foot urban shoulder with a five-foot sidewalk on the east side and a 21-foot urban shoulder with a ten-foot multi-use path on the west side in accordance with the City of Conyers Mixed Use Village Overlay District specifications. The multi-use path is designed to accommodate both pedestrians and bicycles. Parker Road would be widened from two 11- foot lanes to four 12-foot travel lanes (two in each direction) with a 20-foot raised grassed median, 12- foot urban shoulder with a five-foot sidewalk on the east side and 16-foot urban shoulder with a ten-foot multi-use path on the west side. The multi-use path is designed to accommodate both pedestrians and bicycles. The intersection of Parker Road and Old Parker Road would be realigned approximately 220 feet south to change the existing Y-intersection into a T-intersection. The proposed project would require approximately 3 acres of right-of-way (ROW) and 3 acres of easement. Digital project plans from the 2007 design were compared to the current 2013 plans and all areas that were not covered by the Phase I and addendum Phase I surveys were highlighted and designated for fieldwork for the second addendum survey. This report only addresses these areas that have not been previously subjected to Phase I archaeological survey as indicated on Figure 2. The total acreage of the newly surveyed areas is .64 acres.
