The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) intends to widen Forest Hill Road between Northside Drive and Forsythe Road/Vineville Avenue (U.S. 41/GA 19) in Bibb County (Project STP-3213(1); PI 350520, 351130, 351135). In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (36 CFR 800), New South Associates, Inc. conducted a supplemental Phase I Archaeological Survey of intersections and realigned road sections added to the project since an initial survey in 1998. The Area of Potential Effect (APE) included existing and new right-of-way (ROW) and construction easements. A 30-meter (100-ft.) wide expanded survey corridor (ESC) was also surveyed beyond the APE. This addendum report describes the results of this archaeological survey and provides evaluations and recommendations for further Section 106 requirements.
