Abstract

Environmental Corporation of America (ECA) has completed Section 106 Review documentation, FCC Form 621, for our client, Crown Castle USA Inc., concerning proposed collocation activities on an existing telecommunications facility located at 2700 Jims Road NE, Marietta, Cobb County, Georgia. The proposed project plans include the installation of five equipment cabinets located within an 11-foot by 13-foot (3.3-meters by 4-meters) lease area within the existing fenced compound. The APE for Direct Effects for this proposed undertaking includes this small lease area within the existing fenced compound. Construction plans would include no new ground disturbance. The tower center is located at approximately N 34° 3' 30.8" W 84° 28' 17.1" (UTM: Zone 16, 733377 E, 3771534 N). During our background database research, we identified one survey (999) which identified one recorded archaeological site (9CO337) within our standard ¾-mile background research radius for the proposed project. Neither the site nor the survey is located within the APE for direct effects. Additionally, ECA completed an Archaeological Assessment dated on August 8, 2008 for the tower project area prior to construction. No sites or artifacts were identified during this survey. Based on this documentation, prepared in accordance with the Nationwide Programmatic Agreement effective March 7, 2005, ECA believes that the proposed collocation activities would have no effect on any Historic Properties identified in accordance with the NPA. Based on our findings, we recommend no further consultation under Section 106 Review of the National Historic Preservation Act for this proposed undertaking.
