Abstract

The cultural resources survey of the proposed Fitzgerald Primary to Swakers substation transmission line located four historic sites and two artifact occurrences. None of the sites are considered eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places. All of the sites can be seen still standing in 1941 aerial photographs. Table 1 lists the sites, their station location, National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) evaluation, and whether the site will be adversely impacted by construction of the transmission line. The only prehistoric artifact recovered in the survey, Occurrence 2, was an undiagnostic chert flake. No further study is warranted for any of the sites found in this survey.
