Abstract

Environmental Corporation of America (ECA) has completed an Archaeological Assessment for the federal undertaking at the subject site. The subject site includes a proposed 60-foot by 22-foot (18-meter by 7-meter) expanded lease area to adjoin an existing telecommunications facility. The new lease area would be developed with a fenced area that would include accommodate additional associated ground level support equipment. The subject site is located at 4511 Jones Bridge Circle, Norcross, Gwinnett County, Georgia.

This archaeological assessment was conducted in order to ascertain whether the proposed undertaking, on the project site, might directly or indirectly affect cultural resources, if any such resources exist. Through our review of available cultural records and databases, one survey (6177) and three archaeological sites (9GW19, 9GW172, and 9GW291) were identified within our 3/4-mile background research radius, but outside of the APE for direct effects. Furthermore, during the course of the field survey portion of this archaeological assessment, no archaeological cultural resources were encountered.

ECA believes that the proposed undertaking would have no effect on any historic or prehistoric archaeological resources that are listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. Based on our findings related to archaeological resources, we recommend no further consultation under Section 106 Review of the National Historic Preservation Act for this proposed undertaking.
