Abstract

An intensive cultural resources survey of Oglethorpe Power corporation's proposed 5.1 km (3.2 mi) Huntsville-Battlefield transmission line and 1.8 ha (4.5 ac) Battlefield substation resulted in the discovery of six archeological sites. A historic structure was also documented. Evaluation of the resources using the criteria established by the National Register of Historic Places has resulted in recommendations of ineligibility to the Register. No further fieldwork is recommended at these sites.
