Cultural Resources Reconnaissance Survey Report Silver Ridge Farms Phase 2 Tract

Report Number

Year of Publication

Abstract

No previously recorded cultural resources are located within the project area and no cultural resources were identified during the reconnaissance survey. Survey observations indicate that the project area has been severely disturbed by past land use and that the probability for the presence of significant archeological resources within the tract is low. It is RSWA=s opinion that a Phase I archeological survey of the project area is not necessary.

There is one NRHP‑eligible property, the Price‑Dobbs/Rosehill Plantation, adjacent to the southeast corner of the project area. The permit conditions require maintaining a vegetative buffer between the Price‑Dobbs/Rosehill Plantation and the developed portion of Silver Ridge Farms. With the maintenance of the buffer, there will be no adverse effect to this historic property.

The Neely (AKA Smith) Cemetery is located adjacent to the northwest project boundary. The permit conditions require the establishment of a fenced 10‑meter buffer around the outermost graves delineated by RSWA in 2006.
