Abstract

The proposed project is located on State Route (SR) 39 approximately 4.5 miles east of Omaha in Stewart County, Georgia (Figure 1). The project consists of realigning SR 39 and replacing the existing culvert over Hannahatchee Creek Tributary. SR 39 would be realigned 50 feet to the north of its existing center line and the typical section would be expanded from two 11-foot lanes with 3-foot shoulders to two 11-foot lanes with 5-foot shoulders. The existing culvert consists of a 2-barrel system with corrugated metal pipe measuring approximately 120 inches in diameter. The proposed right of- way (ROW) is 50 feet to the north of existing ROW and the entire project spans approximately one mile. Traffic will be maintained on the current alignment while the new alignment and culvert are being constructed.
