Abstract

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Mulkey Engineers & Consultants have proposed widening and reconstructing SR 360/Macland Road from SR 176/New Macland Road in Cobb County to SR 130/Charles Hardy Parkway in Paulding County for a distance of approximately 6.1 miles. The proposed action would consist of improving the existing twcrlane section to four lanes. The roadway would have two 12-foot lanes in each direction with a 24-foot raised median with urban shoulders and sidewalks on both sides. The existing culvert over Powder Springs Creek would be replaced with a bridge. As new easements and areas of required right-of-way have been added since the original survey, a follow up archaeological survey was required. The current reevaluation includes an additional13,073 feet of corridor. New segments are dispersed along SR 360/Macland Road from SR 176/New Macland Road in Cobb County to SR 120/Charles Hardy Parkway in Paulding County.
