Abstract

Cultural resource surveys were conducted on the Brasstown Ranger District, Chattahoochee National Forest, Towns and Union Counties, Georgia during fiscal year 1988. They were done prior to timber sales, road constructions, wildlife openings, and on a new office site. Also surveyed were spots recently cut after a Southern Pine Beetle epidemic around Lake Nottely. The surveys covered 631 acres of upland Blue Ridge Mountain land, and located 11 sites. These were mostly small lithic scatters and historic period house sites. Two house sites and CCC fish tanks were recommended for protection and evaluation.
