Abstract

The proposed project would consist of a park and ride lot facility on a 3.78-acre site located in Douglas County, Georgia (see attached location map). The parcel is be bordered by Interstate 20 to the south, Oak Ridge Road to the east, and hotel/restaurant development to the north. Portions of the site are currently developed. There is an electric supply store and a park and ride lot that would be demolished as part of this project. The proposed park and ride facility infrastructure would consist of approximately 228 new parking spaces and bus pavilions, a possible service building, and access to the site from various locations. Commuter vehicles would enter and exit the site via two entrances along Oak Ridge Road. Buses would enter the site via a proposed bus lane directly from the exit ramp from westbound I-20 to Thornton Road, and via the southernmost driveway on Oak Ridge Road. Buses would exit the site along with commuter vehicles via the northernmost driveway on Oak Ridge Road.
