Abstract

The proposed project would widen and reconstruct S.R.30/U.S.280 in Americus. The project as proposed would begin at a point just south of the intersection of C.R.307/Felder Street then would extend northwesterly along S.R.30 to the intersection of S.R.27. From this point the proposed project would extend easterly along S.R.27 to a point just east of Whispering Pines Drive. In addition Lonnie Lane would be shifted west to intersect S.R.27 opposite the existing intersection of Sun Valley Drive. The proposed widening would occur primarily within existing rights-of-way, however, additional right-of-way would be required on the west side of S.R.30 near the intersection of C.R.307 and on the north and west side of the S.R.30/S.R.27 intersection. Additional rights-of-way would be required on both sides of Lonnie Lane and Sun Valley Drive. An archaeological survey consistent with the proposed rights-of-way was surveyed for the entire 1.5 mile length of the project corridor.
