This project consists of pedestrian improvements in the vicinity of Crawford County Middle and Elementary Schools, and Eagles Nest Pre-Kindergarten in Crawford County, Georgia. In the vicinity of Crawford County Middle and Elementary Schools, and Eagles Nest Pre-Kindergarten, new sidewalk would be constructed along US 80/SR 22/East Crusselle Road beginning at New Street and ending at the intersection with CR 135/Lowe Road where it would join with existing sidewalk. The right-of-way (ROW) width along East Crusselle Road is 100 feet wide, and will remain unchanged. Additionally, approximately 1,000 feet of new sidewalk would be constructed along the west side of Lowe Road starting at US 80/SR 22/East Crusselle Road and CR 135/Lowe Road. The new sidewalk would continue from the intersection and head north towards Crawford County Middle and Elementary Schools. New curb and gutter would also be added to this section of CR 135/Lowe Road. The ROW width along CR 135/Lowe Road is 60 feet wide, and would remain unchanged. North of the first driveway entrance at Crawford Elementary School (bus loop), sidewalk would be placed behind the proposed drainage system (presently ditched).
The total project length is approximately 0.7 mile. All sidewalks would be 5 feet wide, constructed within existing ROW, and would comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Public ROW Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG), and Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) requirements. Curb cuts, curb and gutter, and signage would be placed and/or replaced along the border area and where needed.
