Abstract

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Moreland Altobelli Associates, Inc. has proposed maintenance plans for three existing bridge culverts, two of which are in Dawson County and one in Emanuel County. The large corrugated steel and concrete culverts over SR 136 at Shoal Creek and SR 136 at Burt Creek in Dawson County (Structures 085-5023-0 and 085-5024-0) require scour repairs. The corrugated steel and cement bag retaining wall culvert at SR 56 at Open Creek (Structure 107 -0030-0) in Emanuel County will require rehabilitation.

The work for this survey was conducted in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended (36 CFR 800), and was intended to determine the presence of significant archaeological resources in the project's area of potential effect (APE).
