Abstract

The cultural resources survey of the City of Nashville's proposed spray irrigation wastewater treatment facility discovered three archeological sites and two artifact occurrences. We recommend all three sites as ineligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). All three are late nineteenth to early twentieth century house sites, with a sparse prehistoric lithic component at one. All three sites are artifact scatters located in plowed fields with no structural features remaining. Table 1 lists the sites, the site type, their components, our assessments of eligibility to the National Register of Historic Places, and whether the site will be adversely impacted by construction of the facility.
