The intensive cultural resources survey of Oglethorpe Power Corporation's proposed 2.1 ha (5.192 ac) West Oak substation tract discovered one archeological site, 9CK701. This site has a sparse quartz lithic scatter or quarry, mineral prospecting pits, and evidence of various historic agricultural activities. 9CK701 is recommended ineligible for the National Register of Historic Places. Construction of this project can proceed without impacts to significant archeological sites.
