Abstract

Environmental Corporation of America (ECA) has completed an Archaeological Assessment for the federal undertaking at the subject site. The subject site is a proposed telecommunications facility located at 4616 Roswell Road, Marietta, Cobb County, Georgia. The proposed telecommunications compound would measure approximately 50- feet by 80-feet. The access route leads from Roswell Road through East Cobb Presbyterian Church parking lot in an easterly direction along an existing gravel drive. The gravel road would continue from the parking lot for approximately 40-feet to the proposed telecommunications compound. The facility would include a 125-foot monopine telecommunications structure (130-feet with appurtenances).

This archaeological assessment was conducted in order to ascertain whether the proposed undertaking, on the project site, might directly or indirectly affect cultural resources, if any such resources exist. No previously recorded archaeological sites within the area for direct effects were identified through our review of available cultural records and databases. Furthermore, during the course of the field survey portion of this archaeological assessment no archaeological sites were encountered.

We conclude that the proposed undertaking would not affect any historic or prehistoric archaeological resources that are listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. Therefore, for archaeological cultural resources, we recommend a finding of No Effect for the proposed undertaking at the project site.
