Abstract

Intensive field survey, carried out with standard archeological procedures and methodology, and documentary research, supplemented by personal interviews with property owners and other resident personnel, did not discover any cultural resources which might be deemed eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.

Absence of cultural features is explained by the frequency of flooding, poor drainage, and high water tables for most of the search area. Additional to the these natural causes, is the man-made damage of sewer line construction, recreational landscaping, former channelization, and modern dumping and filling which have resulted in more severe flooding than was known in the past.
