In accordance with the Parks and Historic Sites Capital Outlay projects SFY 83 planned development, an archaeological survey was carried out at Black Rock Mountain State Park on August 30, 1982. Proposed development consists of twenty-five walk-in tent campsites.
Owing to the cabin and reported stone mound, it was expected that historic as well as possible prehistoric evidence of cultural activity might be located in the project area.
