Abstract

There are three proposed routes for the Roswell Bypass: Alternate “A” turns north off of state highway 120 about ½ mile west of Willeo Creek and passes to the north of Roswell city limits where it joins Crossville Road. Alternate “B” turns south off of state highway 120 at Willeo Creek, passes along the north bank of the Chattahoochee River until about 1000 feet east of U.S. 19 where it turns north away from the river and joins Holcomb Bridge Road. Alternate “C” turns north off state highway 120 just each of its intersection with Willeo Road and passes through Roswell just north of the old historically important part of town. No known archaeological or historical sites are along alternate “A”. Site 9FU4 and 9FU6 are within proximity of these proposals, but was reported as not threatened by these developments.
