Abstract

This report documents the results of the cultural resources survey of the existing Dover-Egypt transmission line corridor in Screven and Effingham Counties, Georgia. The field work was carried out by the author and one field technician between May 14 and May 18, 1990. Twelve archaeological sites and four isolated finds were discovered within the existing transmission line corridor. In addition, one prehistoric site was accidentally discovered outside of the project area. None of these discoveries are considered to be eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places. Consequently, no additional archaeological investigations are recommended.
