Abstract

1. Structure ID 029-0002-0, Olive Branch Road

The project involves bridge rehabilitation over eight (8), I-16 & I-95 bridge structures as described below:

a. Raise the Bridge structure to a minimum vertical clearance of 17’-0”, adjust the roadway and roadway

items to match the new bridge elevation.

b. Strengthen or replace the caps at bent 2 & bent 3.

c. Bridge deck preservation (polymer overlay).

d. Joint replacement where necessary.

e. Metalize the steel superstructure

f. Spall repairs in the substructure.

g. All other maintenance items (confined to the bridge), as needed.

 

2. Structure ID 051-0078-0, SR 204 over I-16

a. Raise the Bridge structure to a vertical clearance between 16’-6” and 17’-0”, adjust the roadway and

roadway items to match the new bridge elevation.

b. Deck rehab (modified latex overlay or hydro-demolation)

c. Bridge deck preservation (polymer overlay).

d. Joint replacement where necessary.

e. Metalize the steel superstructure.

f. Spall and crack repair in the substructure.

g. Epoxy injection of cracks in the substructure.

h. All other maintenance items (confined to the bridge), as needed

 

3. Structure ID 051-0156-0, Chatham Parkway over I-16

a. Raise the Bridge structure to a minimum vertical clearance of 17’-0”, adjust the roadway and roadway

items to match the new bridge elevation.

b. Bridge deck preservation (polymer overlay).

c. Joint replacement where necessary.

d. Repair of damaged prestressed beams (from vehicular collisions).

e. All other maintenance items (confined to the bridge), as needed

 

4. Structure ID 191-0002-0, Ardoch Road over I-95

a. Raise the Bridge structure to a minimum vertical clearance of 17’-0”, adjust the roadway and roadway

items to match the new bridge elevation.

b. Bridge deck preservation (polymer overlay).

c. Joint replacement where necessary.

d. Metalize the steel superstructure.

e. Epoxy injection of cracks in the substructure.

f. All other maintenance items (confined to the bridge), as needed.

 

5. Structure ID 191-0003-0, King Road (also known as Church Hill Road) over I-95

a. Raise the Bridge structure to a minimum vertical clearance of 17’-0”, adjust the roadway and roadway

items to match the new bridge elevation.

b. Bridge deck preservation (polymer overlay).

c. Joint replacement where necessary.

d. Metalize the steel superstructure.

e. Spall repairs and epoxy injection of cracks in the substructure.

f. All other maintenance items (confined to the bridge), as needed

 

6. Structure ID 191-0014-0, GA 57 over I-95

a. Raise the Bridge structure to a vertical clearance between 16’-6” and 17’-0”, adjust the roadway and

roadway items to match the new bridge elevation.

b. Bridge deck preservation (polymer overlay).

c. Joint replacement where necessary.

d. Metalize the steel superstructure.

e. Spall repairs and epoxy injection of cracks in the substructure.

f. All other maintenance items (confined to the bridge), as needed.

 

7. Structure ID 191-0018-0, Jones Road and I-95

a. Raise the Bridge structure to a minimum vertical clearance of 17’-0”, adjust the roadway and roadway

items to match the new bridge elevation.

b. Strengthen or replace the caps at bent 3.

c. Bridge deck preservation (polymer overlay).

d. Joint replacement where necessary.

e. Metalize the steel superstructure.

f. Spall repairs and epoxy injection of cracks in the substructure.

g. All other maintenance items (confined to the bridge), as needed.

 

8. Structure ID 191-0021-0, SR 251 over I-95

a. Raise the Bridge structure to a vertical clearance between 16’-6” and 17’-0”, adjust the roadway and

roadway items to match the new bridge elevation.

b. Bridge deck preservation (polymer overlay).

c. Joint replacement where necessary.

d. Metalize the steel superstructure.

e. Spall repairs and epoxy injection of cracks in the substructure.

f. All other maintenance items (confined to the bridge), as needed.

 

In addition, the work will also include roadway shoulder and slope work that extend existing toe-of-slope

on the aforementioned bridge structures. The toe-of-slop will extended no more than 15 feet within

existing ROW. The project will adjust to grade, extend, or replace existing drainage structures within the

project limits and replace rip-rat the drainage outlets.
