Abstract

This report is a compilation of various cultural resources surveys and sites that have been recorded since 1983. These surveys have been conducted for timber sales, roads, and wildlife openings on the Chattooga Ranger District, Chattahoochee National Forest. The sites range from prehistoric Indian campsites to historic period farmsteads. A total of 70 previously unrecorded sites are reported here. This cultural resources survey report covers 3,491 acres of National Forest land that has been inventoried for cultural resources. Nineteen of the sites are considered to be significant or potentially so, and are protected from disturbance until they can be investigated under 36CFR60 criteria for the National Register of Historic Places.
