TCNS ID 110859 Proposed 150-Foot Monopine Telecommunications Structure (160-Foot Overall Height with Appurtenances)

Environmental Corporation of America (ECA) has completed an Archaeological Assessment for the undertaking at the subject site. The subject site includes a proposed approximate 70-foot by 70-foot (21m by 21m) lease area and an approximate 259-foot by 20-foot (79m by 6m) access/utility easement. The proposed lease area is located in a manicured lawn on the ground of an American Legion. The proposed access/utility easement would originate from Old Milton Parkway and proceed north, traversing a gravel driveway, wooded areas, and grassed areas, until reaching the proposed lease area. The proposed telecommunications facility would include a 160-foot tall (49m) overall height monopine telecommunications structure and associated ground level support equipment. The subject site is located at 201 Wills Road, Alpharetta, Fulton County, Georgia. This archaeological assessment was conducted in order to ascertain whether the proposed undertaking might directly or indirectly affect cultural resources, if any such resources exist. An Archaeological Assessment was conducted within the APE for direct effects. During our database research, we found one previously recorded site (9FU257) and five previous survey reports (132, 1996, 3000, 5812, and 6661) located within a 1-mile background research radius, but outside the APE for direct effects. During our fieldwork we uncovered no archaeological cultural artifacts (see Attachment E-1c). Based on our findings, we recommend no further consultation under Section 106 Review of the National Historic Preservation Act for this proposed undertaking. ECA believes that the proposed undertaking would have no effect on any historic or prehistoric archaeological resources that are listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. Based on our findings related to archaeological resources, we recommend no further consultation under Section 106 Review of the National Historic Preservation Act for this proposed undertaking.
