Southern Research, Historic Preservation Consultants, Inc., has completed a cultural resources survey of the proposed 23 acre Creekview Commons Subdivision in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia. The project area is located just north‑ northwest of the intersection of South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Magnolia Street. The purpose of this investigation was to identify potentially significant cultural resources within the Area of Potential Effect (APE).

Archaeologists excavated shovel tests and examined available surface exposures within the proposed Creekview Commons Subdivision site on July 17 and 18, 2013. There are no previously identified archaeological sites within the APE. Two previously unrecorded archaeological sites were identified within the APE (9SU248 and 9SU251).
