Abstract

Environmental Corporation of America (ECA) has completed an Archaeological Assessment for the federal undertaking at the subject site. The proposed undertaking would include a proposed 60‑foot by 60‑foot (18‑meter by 18‑meter) lease area that would include a 154‑Foot overall height monopine communications structure and associated ground‑level support equipment. The subject site is located at 5130 Highway 166, Douglasville, Douglas County, Georgia.

This archaeological assessment was conducted in order to ascertain whether the proposed undertaking, on the project site, might directly or indirectly affect cultural resources, if any such resources exist. Through our review of available cultural records and databases, we found three previously recorded archaeological sites (DO‑21, 104, 141) and one archaeological survey reports (1918) within the 1‑mile background research radius, but not within the APE for direct effects. During the course of the field survey portion of this archaeological assessment, no archaeological cultural resources were encountered.

We conclude that the undertaking would not affect any historic or prehistoric archaeological resources that are listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Therefore, for archaeological cultural resources, we recommend a finding of No Effect for the proposed undertaking at the project site.
