Abstract

The original project description reads: The proposed project involves the addition of a second lane from SR141 southbound onto the limited access portion of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard southbound by constructing a new lane on the left shoulder of the existing lane from SR141 SB onto Peachtree Industrial Boulevard; restriping the southbound departure lanes on SR 141 south of Holcomb Bridge Road with the purpose of turning the existing left lane into a new left lane, the middle lane into an option lane to the existing lane onto Peachtree Industrial Boulevard or to SR140, and the right lane continues to SR 140; and restriping the merge area between the existing lane from SR 141 and Peachtree Industrial Boulevard with the purpose of turning the new left lane from SR 141 into the existing center lane on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. This project will also involve construction of a new lane on the left shoulder of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard southbound, from the underpass under the flyover from Peachtree Industrial Boulevard to SR 141 northbound, to the Peachtree Industrial Boulevard south of Holcomb Bridge Road with the purpose of turning the existing left lane into the new left lane and the existing right lane into the existing left lane; and merging of the new left lane into the existing left lane prior to the Peachtree Industrial Boulevard Bridge over SR140. The project begins roughly 500 feet south of S.R. 141/ Peachtree Pkwy from the center of the intersection at S.R. 141/Peachtree Pkwy/ S.R. 140/ Holcomb Bridge Rd. and ends 300 feet west of Jimmy Carter Boulevard. The project length is about 2,675 feet on SR 141 and about 3,285 feet on Peachtree Industrial Blvd.

There have been project changes and the new project description reads: The proposed project begins approximately 700 feet south from Holcomb Bridge Road. The proposed work ends approximately 1926 feet south of Jimmy Carter Boulevard. The total proposed project length is approximately 4220 feet. The proposed work on the SR141/ Peachtree Parkway ramp would include adding an additional 12-foot travel lane to create a typical section of two 12-foot travels lanes approaching the Peachtree Industrial Boulevard southbound merge. The new lane would merge with the existing two lane section on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard southbound to create a four lane typical section with 11-foot travel lanes a shoulder width that varies between 6 feet to 10.5 feet. The new lane would be added by restriping and widening the east side of Peachtree Parkway and the east side of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard southbound within the existing ROW. The four lane section tapers back to a three lane section approximately 880 feet from the southern edge of the bridge over Jimmy Carter Boulevard. The shoulder width of this section varies between approximately 2 feet to 4 feet. The work on SR 141/ Peachtree Parkway ramp towards Jimmy Carter Boulevard would include the addition of guardrail on both sides. All work would take place within existing ROW.

This reevaluation survey was concerned with only the additional project limits on the south end (around 1,600 feet).
