During the period of July 2006 to March 2007, R.S. Webb & Associates conducted Phase ill data recovery excavations at Site 9CK1073 for the proposed Hickory Log Creek Reservoir site in Cherokee County, Georgia. This study was conducted for the Law Offices of Mr. Wm. Thomas Craig, representative of the City of Canton and the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority, to mitigate the effects of the reservoir undertaking on 9CK1073, a site determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Georgia State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO). The excavations were performed under a Memorandum of Agreement and a research design/work plan approved by the USACE and SHPO.
