Project NH-011-1(44) would widen and reconstruct SR 1/US 27 and construct a new bridge on existing alignment over the Central of Georgia Railroad in Columbus. The proposed project would begin on SR 1/US 27 at 13th Street and continue northerly to an end point at 18th Street. The existing right-of-way on SR 1/US 27 is approximately 40 meters (132 feet). The additional required right-of-way for the proposed project would vary from approximately 44 to 84 meters (144 to 275 feet). An archaeological survey consistent with the proposed project description was conducted along the entire .95 kilometer (.59 mile) project corridor.
