The project proposes to remove and replace the Georgia Southwestern Railroad Bridge on South Lee Street in Americus. To accommodate a required increase in railroad under-clearance, the grade of South Lee Street would have to be elevated between West College Street and Brannan Avenue. Existing right-of-way varies between 60 feet and 80 feet; a maximum of 110 feet of right-of-way would be required. In addition, temporary easements would be required to facilitate construction of the proposed bridge and roadway.
