Abstract

R.S. Webb & Associates (RSWA), a professional cultural resources management firm, conducted archeological and historic resources field surveys for the above-referenced telecommunications tower project. This survey was conducted at the request of, and based upon location information provided by, Tower Engineering Professionals, Inc. (TEP), and is intended to meet the requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the FCC’s Nationwide Programmatic Agreement. The proposed tower site is located southwest of the intersection of Postal Parkway and an unnamed, asphalt paved road off Old Highway 34 (the Jefferson Street Extension), near Newnan, Coweta County, Georgia (USGS Newnan North, Georgia Quadrangle) (Figure 1). The proposed telecommunications undertaking includes a 160-foot (unlit), telecommunications tower located within an approximately 100-foot-by-100-foot lease area. The project site also includes a 30-foot buffer zone around the proposed lease area, and a proposed 70-foot-long-by-30-foot-wide access/utility corridor off of an unnamed asphalt paved road.
