Abstract

The proposed work consists of equipment upgrades, pedestrian accommodations and updating pedestrian facilities to meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards at seven intersections along a 0.6 mile section of State Route (SR) 10/Broad Street in Athens, Clarke County, Georgia. The seven intersections along SR 10/Broad Street are: Newton Street, Pulaski Street, Hull Street, Lumpkin Street, College Avenue, Jackson Street, and Thomas Street (Figure 1). Work may include setback loop detectors and curb cuts at each intersection. Areas of required right-of-way (ROW) and easement (25 ft – 100 ft) are proposed for the relocation of mast arms and utility boxes at five intersections. No additional work will take place outside of existing ROW. No new pavement will be added and typical section will remain the same.
